Meet Your Physiotherapist
My journey as a physiotherapist began in Japan, where I worked in both a rehabilitation hospital and a private orthopedic clinic. In the rehabilitation setting, I treated individuals recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgery, and age-related conditions, helping them regain mobility, independence, and confidence. In private practice, I focused on musculoskeletal injuries and pain management while also leading exercise and wellness group sessions for older adults.
Moving to Canada was a life-changing experience. I was inspired by the country’s inclusive approach to healthcare and community living. Seeing people with disabilities actively participating in their communities, supported by accessible environments and open-minded attitudes, reinforced my desire to build my career here.
My Canadian journey began as a Community Support Worker, supporting individuals living with acquired brain injuries (ABI). I also volunteered at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre and worked as a Rehabilitation Assistant providing community-based care. I later became a Registered Physiotherapist in private practice, treating patients with both musculoskeletal (MSK) and neurological conditions. Throughout these experiences, meeting wonderful patients and their families and being part of their recovery has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I am also deeply grateful to the incredible mentors who helped shape me into the physiotherapist I am today.
My commitment to rehabilitation is also personal. As a child, I witnessed my grandfather live with the lasting effects of a severe stroke and the challenges he faced with limited rehabilitation support. That experience has remained with me throughout my life and ultimately inspired my path into physiotherapy.
Today, my goal is to help every individual move better, feel stronger, and live with greater confidence—whether recovering from a neurological condition, orthopedic injury, surgery, or age-related changes. I believe successful rehabilitation extends beyond treatment sessions, so I work closely not only with my patients but also with their families and caregivers, providing education and guidance that supports long-term recovery at home.
